1. Effect on thickness
After calendering, the stiffness of the paper increases, the thickness decreases and becomes uniform, the printing ability improves, and the air permeability of the paper decreases.
2. Effect on Softness
The more nip areas the paper passes through, the higher the linear pressure, the higher the pressure roller temperature, and the higher the smoothness of the paper.
3. Effect on brightness
Increasing the line pressure, increasing the filler content, increasing the moisture content of the paper entering the calender, and increasing the surface temperature of the calender roller are beneficial to improve gloss.
