The hydraulic pulper has only one task: to transform solid fiber raw materials into liquid pulp. Waste cardboard boxes, old books, pulp boards, and scraps cut from paper machines are thrown into the pulper, where they are torn, kneaded, and dispersed by the high-speed rotating water flow, transforming back into a fiber suspension for the next process.
Based on structural form, they are divided into two categories:
Vertical: The most common type. The tank is placed vertically, with the rotor at the bottom. It uses rotation to create a vortex that shreds the paper. They range in size from small machines of 3-5 cubic meters to large machines of 20-30 cubic meters; this is the most common type on the market.
Horizontal: The tank is placed horizontally, with the impeller extending from one end. Its advantage is its ability to process waste paper containing impurities; larger pieces of debris are less likely to get stuck, making it suitable for processing relatively dirty raw materials.
Based on working consistency, they are divided into two categories:
Medium-consistency: More water and less pulp, good fluidity, suitable for continuous production and processing clean raw materials.
High-consistency: Thicker pulp, more intense friction between fibers, particularly suitable for deinking processes—ink particles are more easily rubbed off. High-consistency machines are mostly intermittent, operating one tank at a time.
For clean raw materials and continuous production, a medium-consistency vertical hydrapulper is sufficient. For processing waste paper with impurities, a horizontal hydrapulper is more reliable.
